The Humming Heart

Expressing The Inexpressible

I know no tune for world peace
Or melody to cure a disease
No song to raise awareness
Or words to define the crumbling humanity

All I can do is may be
Describe the bus ride home
A few words in between about
The guy who sat next to me,
How unproductive the lessons they teach feel like,
Or the canteen food that was disgusting

So don’t come to me with matters worldly
I hardly care at all
What’s going on fails to concern me
Because I’m locked behind my wall

Don’t come to me expecting heavenly beats
I know not how to raise life’s worth
All I can do is bring you back to reality
And help you be down to earth

Even if you ask me I can’t tell you
How beautiful is a hill view
For all I have come across are street sides
Piled with trash each day as I pass by
And a dingy backdrop of cascading houses
That would make any four walls look like paradise

So don’t come to me describing nature’s beauty
For I hardly care at all
What’s going on fails to concern me
Because I’m locked behind my wall

Don’t come to me expecting heavenly beats
I know not how to raise life’s worth
All I can do is bring you back to reality
And help you be down to earth

About this blog

The heart hums something about the ineffable. It’s trying to give you a glimpse into the enigma. You can understand it, yet you can never understand it completely. It is elusive, it escapes. It is within reach, but it is not within grasp. You are always coming closer and closer to it, but you may never arrive. Still the heart waits with hope for the day someone arrives, when the distinction between the seeker and the sought disappears!
